Canon C300 is the latest camera to be released from Canon.
It has the beautiful filming quality like the Canon 5DMKII, but operates much more like a traditional video camera. This camera is a serious game changer that will help you produce some beautiful images, cheaply and effectively. Have a look at the full technical specs.
The C300 comes with either a PL or Canon EF Mount.
Canon have released some beautiful glass including 14.6-60mm and 30-300mm both EF or PL mount. They are a little pricy at just over $47,000, but if you have the dollars really beautiful lenses. If that’s a little steep for your budget and you more interested in something a little cheaper, but still the highest quality you are in luck as B&H currently have a Double Super Saver Deal Over 20 lenses including 10-22mm, 16-35mm, 70-200mm and Tilt & Shift. I shot this commercial for Mercedes using my Canon 5D Mark II - This is an ungraded version and so is a true reference of how fantastic the color and contrast are direct from the camera. I used a wide 16-35mm lens, a 24-70mm Lens and a 50mm prime lens.

Canon 5D Mark II Mercedes Commercial
The Canon ESO 1D has always been the top of Canons DSLR tree. We have seen many versions of the 1D. So what makes the Mark IV?
Well the 1D Mark IV has 16.1 Mega Pixels and is considered the Imaging Solution! Question, is it? Well the new features are a Completely Redesigned 45-Point Autofocus System, Fast 10 fps Continuous Shooting (the 5D Mark II only has 3.9), 16-Mega pixel Resolution, Outstanding ISO Sensitivity 100-12800 (expanded 50-102,400) and Full HD Video Recording at Selectable Frame Rates (1080: 30p (29.97) / 24p (23.976) / 25p, 720: 60p (59.94) / 50p, 480: 60p (59.94) / 50p). Which essentially covers all NTSC and PAL both regular speed and slowmo. So if your into shooting video that is a bonus! This DSLR camera has been used to shoot television commercials! However, if your a Stills purest and want a DSLR for what they were originally intended then what I will say is the 1D Mark IV is a rugged, professional DSLR made for fast shooting professionals and if you have the budget to spend it is the Imaging Solution!

As a leader in speed and resolution the EOS-1D Mark IV, captures the extraordinary. Freeze action at 16.1 megapixels and at 10fps or with Full HD video, the EOS-1D Mark IV is ready for everything.
There has been so much press about the 5D Mark II, so much so that I upgraded myself from the 5D Mark I. Was it the right decision? Did I need to? Well firstly the Mark II has 21.1 mega pixels which is a crazy amount! Secondly, it’s got a full frame sensor, meaning what you ask? Well it means that it has the same sensor size as a typical 35mm camera. This is especially good for shooting on wide angle lenses as it gives you the full field of view i.e. a 24 mm lens will have the same 84° angle of view as it would on a 35mm.
You can shoot 3.9 frames per second, I know it’s not as many as the 1D Mark IV which shoot just over 10, but still… It’s good! The colour replication is fantastic, the menu is easy to access, but the real plus of this camera and what the hype has been about is it shoots Full HD video at 1080 resolution and now with the latest firmware 25fps and 30fps are available. The camera offers an unparalleled shallow depth of field that is rare in many regular quadruple the price (and more) professional HD Camcorders.
All in all if your using the 5D Mark II for stills or video or even both, it’s an amazing piece of kit. Well worth the investment.
